Indian V.C Manu Kumar Jain has tweeted that the device will launch in India around next week, and the teaser says that the phone will be a champion in field of battery backup.

Redmi 8 teaser suggests that the phone will have a better battery backup. The smartphone recently was seen in Jain's hand at the end of the Redmi 8A launch live-stream, and a possible dual rear-camera setup was visible.
Leaks also suggests that the Redmi device will have a waterdrop-style display notch, Also a capsule-shaped camera setup with two sensors. With back panel being traditional with Redmi branding and a fingerprint sensor.
On specs-chart, Redmi 8 is expected to run the Android 9 Pie OS with MIUI 10.0.1.
